This quirky conversation piece is our spin on a vintage optical trade sign. This is very reminiscent of old turn of the century trade signs that in their day were considered very high tech but now seem quaint.

When I was a youngster, my family used to go up to my Grandfather's house in Anniston, Alabama for visits to his small farm. He had this old red farm tractor. It was more like an engine with wheels attached to it, a far cry from fancy farm implements growers use today. Fifty years ago, tractors like this puttered along country roads all over the U.S.

These days they are only seen as lawn ornaments and at antique tractor shows. This would be an excellent item for a boy's room, back porch or for your garden.

Simple hues of blues and greens make this a lovely floral painting. This fine art painting is on wood panel, entitled Flowers and Berries is expertly hand-painted. The image is engraved into the surface of the wood. Muted colors are applied by brush and knife a very painterly style creating a textured surface that only hand-painting can achieve.

We have been enjoying this great dog breed lately. Locally, we have a pair of Frenchies that live down the street from our studio and we love passing by when they are out for a quick pet! They are a charming and gentle breed that we have fallen in love with (almost as much as our pugs, but not quite).

Created by master craftsmen, often gilded in gold they glimmer and shine in the sun. This angel is inspired by those type of figures, we hope we have captured the elegance in her. When I was in high school, much of Jaws II was filmed near my hometown on Pensacola Beach. I remember driving over there a few times during and after the filming and seeing the row of colorful beach tents and the fake lighthouse built on the rocks down by Ft. Pickens. The mechanical great white shark was sighted many times by local radio personalities as it was moved around from site to site for shooting. Here's my tribute to the Great White Shark.

When I make gumbo at home it fills the house with a robust, simmering aroma of onions, celery, and bell pepper along with chicken, and sausage. I've made the dish for lots of friends and family and I get asked to do it again and again... Gumbo is just that good.

In the North, it's very common to see a "welcome" mat at the entrance to a home. In the South, folks just come right out and say "hey y'all" no matter where you're going. In North Carolina, and even Florida, there is something warmer (no pun intended) about greeting each other on a day-to-day basis that you don't always find in other parts of the country.

We get a lot of requests for this "hola" Spanish Word Sign, so I thought I'd put it up in the shop. Hola means "hello" or "hi" in Spanish and is used by younger folks.
